Faith Works Opportunity—School Backpacks Pack and Pray Night

On Wednesday, May 18, our church family will be packing and praying over 250 backpacks with basic school supplies for local elementary children. We pack early in the year so they are ready for the New Horizons summer reading program, as well as for other area students in the fall. Backpacks and supplies have already been purchased. We will meet in the sanctuary to begin packing and praying at 6 pm, and we should be done in about an hour. Sign up here to volunteer. For questions or more info email missions@estero.church.

You can donate toward the cost with cash or check to Estero Church and write School Supplies on the memo line OR you can donate online by choosing Other and specify School Supplies as the description. $20 covers one backpack, but any amount is welcome!

Faith Works Good News – God's Protected Harbor Workday

Enjoy these highlights of your hard working church family helping to refresh the Protected Harbor Ladies’ Residence on March 26. Thank you to our volunteers whose sweat equity in removing carpet, painting, cleaning, and gardening saved thousands in labor costs. A big thank you also to those who donated toward the material costs of the project, which covered all the supplies for that day and makes a good start toward new flooring and appliances. #BestChurchEver!

PS: We would love to completely cover the makeover so their money can be spent on serving their residents. You can still give by check to Estero Church with Protected Harbor in the memo line, or give online by choosing “other” and specifying Protected Harbor Project in the notes area.

From Missions Team to Faith Works Team
A Message to Our Church Family

Since January of last year, your Missions Team has been thinking about how to communicate all that Estero Church does to spread the message of Jesus. We kept coming back to the importance of faith and action. Action is doing something to achieve an aim, and our aim is to reach out beyond our church walls, deliver hope, and share our faith. Team members looked back at the past two years and saw how acting in faith led Estero Church to feed our surrounding communities through miraculous Friday food distributions, as well as providing abundant Thanksgiving and Christmas hope for the needy even during a time of supply chain shortages and social distancing. As we continue forward in this “new normal,” we want to remember the importance of acting on faith, and in faith. We hope that changing our name to the Faith Works Team will act as a reminder that faith needs to be put to work, so God can continue to show the world that faith in Him does work.
